Today, we worked on our Word of the Week packets together. Our word today was "Constitution". First, we thought about what this word meant in our own words and brainstormed as a group. Then we drew symbols of the meaning, used the word in a sentence, and looked it up in the dictionary. After Word of the Week, we read an article on the Presidential elections. We broke into groups and did something called "jigsaw". You were responsible for telling the rest of the group about certain parts of the article, and we all contributed to the discussion. Homework: page 8 in textbook - questions and vocabulary for "What is Civics?" chapter 1. D.O.G. for today: Latitude is measured north and south of what imaginary line? What does a star or a dot in a circle usually mean on a map?
