WISCONSIN ELKS ASSOCIATION U.S. CONSTITUTION CONTEST

This is a scholarship that is given to students who take a test about the U.S. Constitution. There is an essay question and 40 multiple choice questions. The student who scores the highest on the test locally will take a state test. The test will be given locally on Sunday, April 11, 2010. The scholarship award was $2800 last year. Each contestant taking the final State Test will receive some award. The application to take the test is due by March 31, 2010.


UW-PLATTEVILLE COMMUNITY SCHOLARSHIP

There is a $100 scholarship available for a West High student who is accepted and planning to attend UW-Platteville next year. The priority deadline for applying is January 1, 2010. The final deadline is March 1, 2010.

PARTNERS IN EDUCATION TECHNICAL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

Seniors who are enrolled in a program at a Wisconsin Technical College should apply for this scholarship. Three scholarships will be awarded to high school seniors from our area. You must have outstanding attendance and lifework skills, applicable employment and acceptable community service and student involvement. This scholarship is due to your counselor no later than March 8, 2010.

SUE TODEY DRUG ALLIANCE ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP

SOPHOMORES ONLY! Here is a scholarship just for you. To qualify for this scholarship you must be a sophomore with outstanding attendance, academic performance and community service. You must lead an alcohol and drug free lifestyle. There is an essay required along with 3 letters of recommendation. This scholarship is due to your counselor no later than March 8, 2010.

AXA ACHIEVEMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
-national scholarship
-1 winner for Wisconsin
-outstanding activity in school, community or workplace
-recommendation from an adult professional
-$2,000 - $25,000 scholarships

KOHL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
-4 year college or technical college
-will be evaluated on leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement, and academic achievement.

BIG SUN SCHOLARSHIP
This is an athletic scholarship that is only available online at: www.bigsunathletics.com. This is a $500 scholarship. The deadline for applying for this scholarship is June 24, 2010

KFC COLONEL’S SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The KFC Colonel’s Scholars Program is dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree at a public institution within their legal state of residence. To qualify, a student must be:
• Graduating from high school this academic year (between 12/1 and 8/31)
• Maintaining a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
• Enrolling in a public, in-state college or university
• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree
• A U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Scholars may begin their college career by entering into either a 2 or 4 year accredited, public college or university within their state of legal residence, as long as they stay on track to complete a bachelor’s degree program.
