March 2010 Scholarships

RICHARD A. HUXFORD ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
This is a $500 scholarship for a West High student who is accepted at a Wisconsin college or university, majoring in Engineering. Applications must be handwritten including the essay question. The deadline for turning in this application to your counselor is April 23, 2010.

BELLIN HEALTH SPORTS MEDICINE HEALTHCARE SCHOLARSHIP
If your plans for the future are in a healthcare related field you should apply for this scholarship. You must be graduating from a school that contracts Bellin Health Sports Medicine for their athletic training services (West High qualifies for this). You must also be a senior and provide two letters of recommendation. The deadline for turning this application into your counselor is April 23, 2010.

WISCONSIN ELKS CLUB - TECHNICAL COLLEGE
If you are planning to attend NWTC or another Wisconsin technical college you may apply for this scholarship. You will need up to 3 letters of recommendation; a 200 word statement summarizing your activities, accomplishments, needs and objectives which the applicant thinks qualifies him or her for a grant and outlines career goals. The deadline for turning this application into your guidance counselor is March 18, 2010.

IRMA R. SANTY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a West High senior who is planning on enrolling in a two or four year postsecondary program in any field of study. Students will need to show promise as a student, good citizenship, and a record of school or community service. Financial need shall be a consideration only when other criteria are equal. You may apply either for the Irma R. Santy or the Stewart J. Santy, but not both. The deadline for turning this scholarship into your counselor is April 9, 2010.

STEWART J. SANTY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a West High senior who is planning on enrolling in a two or four year postsecondary program in any field of study. Students will need to show promise as a student, good citizenship, and a record of school or community service. Financial need shall be a consideration only when other criteria are equal. RICE ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP
This is a scholarship for a student who is majoring in Civil or Structural Engineering. It is a $3000 scholarship that is given for academic achievement, participation in school and community activities, financial need and career goals. The deadline for turning this application into your counselor is April 1, 2010.

BOB NELSON SCHOLARSHIP
There will be six $600 scholarships given out to West High seniors this year. The deadline for turning in your application is April 23, 2010.

JOY SEROOGY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is for a student who will be attending either a 2 or 4 year college majoring in a business related program. You must have completed a minimum of 2 business courses in high school and write a short essay. The deadline for turning in your application is May 7, 2010.
