Second semester we shift gears from Physics to Chemistry. In Unit Five we will learn how scientists classify matter. We will look at physical vs. chemical changes and how to distinguish between them. We will also be studying the phases of matter and what happens when matter changes phase. We will look at changes in temperature and the changes that happen at the submolecular level. Students will also learn about the gas laws. We will be finishing Unit Five in mid February.
