Our final unit for the year looks at Nuclear Energy and current research in the field. Students will learn different types of radiation and how to solve nuclear equations. Students will gain a deeper understanding of fission and fusion reactions. We will also take a look at the CERN particle accelerator in operation in Switzerland. This unit also looks at waves. Students will learn about mechanical and electro-magnetic waves. We will learn the parts of a wave and how to measure wavelength, frequency, and speed. Students will learn about different types of light and their characteristics. This unit will take us through the beginning of June, up to final exams.
