East Library Media Center WELCOME The East High Library Media Center is a supervised center for learning activity. Students may use the LMC before school, during study halls and lunch hour, and after school to complete assignments or to engage in individual reading and research pursuits. Classes scheduled into the LMC may use a variety of educational resources, including books, videos and audio materials, electronic databases, and selected Internet resources to complete assignments. The LMC has a collection of over 18,000 books and nearly 1000 videotapes. In addition, the LMC subscribes to approximately fifty magazines and two daily newspapers. Print materials are available for check out, with the loan periods ranging from overnight for reference materials, two weeks for magazines, thirty days for books. Videotapes may be viewed in the LMC. Technology has made it possible for LMC resources to be shared throughout the building. All students have access to online resources that include our online public access catalog, full text periodicals, newspapers, encyclopedias, atlases, and specialized resources, as well as Windows production software and audio visual equipment.
